1984-01-17 Regular CIC MinutesREGULAR MEETING OF THE COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA HELD TUESDAY JANUARY 17, 1984 The meeting convened at 7:25 P.M. with Chairman Diament presiding. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Commissioner Gorman. The Invocation was given by Chairman Diament. ROLL CALL: Present: Commissioners Gorman, Hanna, Lucas, Monsef, and Chairman Diament - 5. Absent: None. Note: No formal business listed on the agenda. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS, GENERAL Fred Scullin, 1120 Chestnut Street, stated that the Commission is meeting as a Redevelopment Agency and is supposed to provide 20% of the housing that is built for low and moderate income people. The City Manager stated that the law provides that within the Redevelopment area, 20% of the tax increment funds would go in support of moderate and low income housing, and other cities are using monies for infrastructure in support of areas of the communities considered to be low and moderate income, and money could be used for street tree plantings, curb cuts, restoration of sewers and similar projects. The City Manager noted that 15% of housing built in Alameda Marina Village is re- quired to be for low and moderate income families.
