MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT COMMISSION
AUGUST 6, 1996
The meeting convened at 7:40 p.m. with Chair Appezzato presiding.

(96 -18) Minutes of the Special Community Improvement Commission
Meeting of July 2, 1996. Approved.
Commissioner Arnerich moved approval of the Minutes. Commissioner
Mannix seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous voice vote -
5.
REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
(96 -19) Report from the Community Development Director
recommending Commission approve proposed developer selection
process for property at 1629 Park Street.
William Peniston, Alameda, spoke on behalf of Gloria Lohr, the
property owner of 1629 Park Street; stated that he leases part of
the property; Ms. Lohr has a business license for that location and
works every morning from 3:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.; area is kept
clean; Ms. Lohr would like to paint the building grey; and Ms. Lohr
wants to be left alone.
In response to Commissioner Mannix's inquiry, Mr. Peniston stated
that Ms. Lohr has an upholstery business at 1629 Park Street that
she has conducted since 1934.
Commissioner Lucas moved acceptance of the report and
recommendation.
Commissioner Arnerich seconded the motion, which carried by
unanimous voice vote - 5.
