1997-07-01 Special CIC Minutes286 Special Meeting_ of the Community Improvement Commission Tuesday- - -July 1, 1997- - -7:25 P.M. Present: Absent: Commissioners Daysog, DeWitt, Kerr, Lucas and Chair Appezzato - 5. None. (97-021) At 7:38 p.m., Mayor Appezzato announced that the Special Community Improvement Commission Meeting [scheduled for 7:25 p.m.] would be extended to July 15, 1997. Following Special Orders of the Day of the Regular City Council Meeting, Mayor Appezzato stated the City Attorney had advised him that there must be a continuing [Community Improvement Commission] Resolution because of the start of a new fiscal year, and that staff would bring the item [CIC FY 97-98 budget] back [at the July 15th Commission Meeting] for further study. Legal Counsel Carol Korade stated that she understood the Commission's desire that the CIC meeting be held over; however, it was July 1 of the new Fiscal Year; that the CIC meeting should be opened to adopt a Resolution authorizing continuing payment, otherwise Community Development staff could not be paid nor any bills paid. Chair Appezzato opened the meeting. Commissioner Lucas so moved [adoption of a Resolution authorizing approval of interim expenditures]. Vice Chair DeWitt seconded the motion. (97-022) Resolution No. 97-69, "Approving Interim Expenditures Prior to Adoption of Community Improvement Commission Budget for Fiscal Year 1997-98." Adopted. Special Meeting Alameda Community Improvement Commission July 1, 1997 287 Under discussion and in response to Chair Appezzato's inquiry regarding approval of the CIC Budget for FY 1997-98, Legal Counsel Korade stated the matter would be addressed on July 15, 1997.
