TUESDAY - - -OCTOBER 7, 1997- - -7:25 P.M.
Chair Appezzato called the meeting to order at 8:52 p.m., following
a Housing Authority Board of Commissioners Meeting.
Reverend Clark Flesher, First Baptist Church, gave the Invocation.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Commissioner Daysog.
ROLL CALL Present: Commissioners Daysog, DeWitt, Kerr, Lucas
and Chair Appezzato - 5.
Absent: None.
MINUTES
(97-038) Minutes of the Special Community Improvement Commission
Meetings held on September 16, 1997.
Commissioner Lucas moved approval of the Minutes.
Commissioner DeWitt seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous
voice vote - 5.
REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS
(97-039) Public Hearing to consider authorization for the Executive
Director to enter into the proposed Disposition and Development
Agreement with Wind River Systems, Inc. for the sale and
development of certain real property at the Encinal
Terminals/Alaska Basin Site.
Commissioner Kerr announced that she would not be participating in
the discussion or voting on the matter before the Commission,
because she lives near the Project.
Chair Appezzato opened the public portion of the Hearing.
Bill Garvine, Alameda Chamber of Commerce, stated the business
community endorses the Wind River Project, and City staff should be
complimented.
Chair Appezzato closed the public portion of the Hearing.
Commissioner Lucas stated the City is glad Wind River Systems is
expanding in the City, and moved approval of the recommendation.

Commissioner Daysog seconded the motion.
Chair Appezzato stated it had been a pleasure working with Wind
River Systems, Inc.
On the call for the question, the motion carried by the following
voice vote: Ayes: Commissioners Daysog, DeWitt, Lucas and Chair
Appezzato - 4. Noes: None. Absent: None. Abstentions:
Commissioner Kerr - 1.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the Commission, Chair
Appezzato adjourned the meeting at 8:57 p.m.
