RECOGNIZING THE TEMPORARY APPOINTMENT OF JUELLE-ANN BOYER TO
SERVE AS ADMINSTRATIVE SPECIALIST III WITH A WORKING TITLE OF
INTERIM FINANCE DIRECTOR
WHEREAS, Fred Marsh resigned from his position as City of Alameda
Finance Director effective August 22, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Juelle-Ann Boyer retired from her position as Chief Financial
Officer with the City of Alameda on August 2, 2008 and is currently a California Public
Retirement System annuitant; and
WHEREAS, Juelle-Ann Boyer has extensive knowledge and experience
required to oversee the City's financial operations; and
WHEREAS, City Manager John Russo has made a temporary appointment for
Juelle-Ann Boyer to serve as Administrative Specialist III with a working title of
Interim Finance Director effective August 18, 2014, with an anticipated duration of no
more than six months; and
WHEREAS, California Public Employees' retirement law requires action by the
governing body of a contracting agency for a retired person to serve without
reinstatement from retirement for a permanent appointment.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Alameda to recognize the temporary appointment of Juelle-Ann Boyer to serve as
Administrative Specialist III with a working title of Interim Finance Director.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular
meeting assembled on the 7th day of October, 2014, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Chen, Daysog, Ezzy Ashcraft, Tam and
Mayor Gilmore — 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
