APPROVING WORKFORCE CHANGES IN THE PUBLIC
WORKS DEPARTMENT, THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
DEPARTMENT, AND THE CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE
WHEREAS, in order to provide efficient and effective oversight of the
City's Public Works capital improvement projects, the Public Works
Department is proposing workforce changes to address this need; and
WHEREAS, in order to ensure comprehensive and coordinated
response to residents after a disaster, the Community Development
Department is proposing a workforce change to address this need; and
WHEREAS, in order to provide innovative and comprehensive
communication services to the City's resident and business communities, the
Community Development Department and the City Manager's Office are
proposing a workforce change to address this need.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Alameda that following workforce changes are approved and that the
City's authorized positions are so modified:
1. Public Works Department
a. Eliminate one Senior Engineer position
b. Eliminate one Supervising Civil Engineer position
c. Add one Public Works Project Manager I position
d. Add one Public Works Project Manager III position
2. Community Development Department
a. Eliminate one Media and Communications Coordinator
position
b. Add one Administrative Services Coordinator position
3. City Manager's Office
a. Add one Public Information Officer position
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular
meeting assembled on thel 8 th day of November, 2014, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Chen, Daysog, Tam and
Mayor Gilmore — 4.
NOES: Vice Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft - 1.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
