AMENDING RESOLUTION 14512 TO UPDATE SIGNING
AUTHORITY FOR LOCAL AGENCY INVESTMENT FUND
WHEREAS, on March 15, 1983 Council passed Resolution 10001 authorizing
investment of available funds for the City in the State's Local Agency Investment Fund
(LAIF), and:
WHEREAS, Resolution 10001 specifically authorized the City Treasurer, Finance
Director and Supervising Accountant as the City officers vested with signing authority,
and;
WHEREAS, Resolution 10001 was subsequently amended on December 5, 2006 by
Resolution 14044 to reflect the reclassification of the Finance Director as the Chief
Financial Officer, and;
WHEREAS, Resolution 14044 was subsequently amended on December 7, 2010 by
Resolution 14512 to reflect the reclassification of the Chief Financial Officer as the
Controller, and;
WHEREAS, as part of the adoption of the FY 13-14 and 14-15 budget, the
Supervising Accountant position was reclassified as Finance Supervisor, and;
WHEREAS, as part of the adoption of the FY 13-14 budget, the position of Controller
was reclassified as Finance Director, and;
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Finance Director and Finance Supervisor to retain
the signing authority previously granted to the Controller and Supervising Accountant
positions, and;
WHEREAS, due to a position vacancy in the office of Finance Director, the City
Council finds it necessary to also vest the Assistant City Manager as a City officer with
signing authority over the LAIF account, and:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Alameda
that the Resolution 14512 be amended to include the Finance Director, Finance
Supervisor and the Assistant City Manager as a signing authority for LAIF.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting
assembled on the 2nd day of December, 2014, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Chen, Daysog, Ezzy Ashcraft, Tam and
Mayor Gilmore — 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
