The Roll was called and Councilmen Krumb,Walker,Mac ha Spence,Ells,Morgen- stern,Prol. t an Bullock,(8),were noted present and Councilman Hammond,(1) absent. , The minutes of the meeting of May 21st were reaa and ordered. approved. Mayor Noy arrived and took the Chair as presiding officer. A report was received from the Auditor stating that the Troasurer had deposit- ed collections received from Electrolier District Eo.6 amounting to 15,103,73 and that the '1000.00 transferred as a loan from the General Puna to Local Improvei;lent Fund No.783 on March 13th could be re-transferred. back. Ordered filed and there- upon Ii.3Donc0 offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: Whereas it appears from the report of the Auditor that a sufficient sum of money has been deposited to the credit of Local Improvement Fund 11o.783 to pay the indebtedness of said 2 hrn8 to the General Fund,therefore be it Resolved,That the sum of ;1000.00 be and the same is hereby transferred from Local Improvement Fund No.783 to the General Fund and the Auditor and the Treasurer are hereby directed to affect the said transfer upon their respective books. Mr.Eac Rae seconded the resolution and it was adopted and , passcd. by the follow- ing vote. Ayes:Councilmen Krumb,Walker,Mac Rae,Spence,Ells Morgenstern,Probs and. Bullock,(8). Hoes:None. Absent:Councilman Hammond,(1). A report was received from the Auditor stating that the Treasurer had filed his final settlement of delinquent assessments in Electrolier District Yo. 5 and had issued to the City of Alameda fifteen Certificates of Sale for unpaid assess- ments and reouesting that a transfer of ‘229.05 be made from the General Fund to Local Improvement Fund No. 782. Ordere d.. filed and thereupon Er. Bullock offered the following Resolution and moved its adoption:- RESOLVED, That the sum of Two Hundred and twenty-nine and 05 1 0 229.05) Dollars, be and the same is hereby transferred from the General Fund to Local Im- provement Fund. Do. 762, on account of delinquent electrolier assessments on fifteen 15) sales to the City of Aloneda, the Auditor and the Treasurcr are hereby directed to affect the said transfer upon their respective books. A communication was received from E.3.Rdibinson,the owner of the property on the south side of Central Avenue aajoinin 'Iashington ?ark on -ne west makin certain o-rers to the City of Alameda in the way o± property for street purposes but with ses to be incurred in improving a propose June 4th 1912 into the sada -Robinson property. A petition was received from the Hutchinson Company requestinF permission to construct, under private contract a six inch sewer in Alameda from the center line of EiFhth Street to the center line of Pare Street as contemplated in Resolution of Intention No. 785. Bullock on April 9th, 191 and which had been referred to the Judiciary Committee, came up for passaF:e. Er. Probst, Chairman of tho Judiciary Committee reported that the City Attorney had June 4th, 1912. by the State Laws regarding such matters and, was not in favor of its adoption, there- upon Hr. Bullock, with the consent of the Gounoli, was allowed to withdraw the'Ordi,-e nance. Hr. Bullock introduced A Bali entitled "A 'Bill for Ordinance KO. Dote:min,. ing ater ates and Fixing the OomlJeaasation for Water 'nished for Private and Public Purposes in the City of Alameda, during the Year.Commencing'July 1, 1912 and ending June 30, 1913" whiCh was laid over under the provisions of the Charter. Mr. Walker introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption:- WHEREAS, it has been the will of Almight Goa to sud1eniy take from our midst Frederick K. Krauth, Jr., -; who has given the greater part of his life to the service of the people of this City, and WHEREAS, Frederick K. }rauth, Jr., has been for, years associated with the Munici- pal Government as Chief of its Fire Department giving irngredgingiy of his time and ability in guarding the lives d property of its inhabitants in his capacity as such . Chief, RESOLVED, that in the untimely death of Frederic , Jr., the City of Alameda has lost a tried and faithful public servant and the community an honored and spirited citizen, T-ESOLVED PURIT;ER, as a mark of respect to the memory of Frederick K. Krauth Jr., that the drapery at the entrance of the City Hall be maintained for a cried of thirty days that a copy of these Resolutions be sent to the relatives of the deceased and also spreaft upon the Minutes of this Todr, and as a further token of regn-d that when this Council adjourn it do so out of respect to his memory. Absent:Councilman Haneond, (1). Mr. Walker brought up the matter of the Oakland. Traction Company's action in donating a special car to take the pall bearers and others to the crematory and return, in connection with the funeral services of Frederick K. Krauth, Jr., and moved that the Clerk be directed to convey the thann of tho Council to the said. Traction Company for their courtesy seconded by Mr. Bullock and carried. Mr. Dovod that the Clerk eltena the thanks of the Council to the Fire De- partments of Oakland and San Francisco and also the Veteran Firemen's Association. of Sane.Frauisco for their eourtesy in send:inn representatives to be present to partic pate in the funeral services of the late Chief of the Fire Department seconded by M-r. Probst. and carried- Mr. Ells moved that the Printing of the Bonas, provided for in the Ordinance ad.00ted this date be referred to the Printing Committee, seconded by Mr. Krumb and carried. MT. Bullock moved that it be the sense of the Council that the Bonds be litho- graphed, seconded by Mr. Vialiker and carried. Mr. Bullock moved that the Finulce Committee be authorized to have the proceed- ings relative to the issue of the Bonds voted for on April 30th, 1912 examined and certified, seconded by MR. Spence and carried.
