The roll was called and Councilmen Bartlett Bullock, MacRae, Morgenstern, Morris, Roth and Stewart, (7) were noted present. Quorum present. Councilmen Hammond and Probst arrived later and were roted present. The minutes of the last regular meeting were read 'and approved. The minutes of the 32ecial meeting of March .6th were read and approved. Mr. Bartlett introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLVE-1j, by the 0oinei l of the city of Alameda that there be transferred from the _Electric Licht Fund to the Interest and Re- demption Fund, to pay interest Nine hundred and eighty-four and 27/100 (984.27) Dollars, and redemption One thousand two hundred and fifty and 00,100 (1250.00) Dollars, e April 1st on the Electric Light Bond issue authorized in 1908. The 2_,uditor books. hereby authorized to make said transfer upon his Mr. 3u2lock seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and it was passed and adopted by the following vote:- Ayes:Councilmen Bartlett Bullock, Hammond, MacRae, Morgenstern, Morris, Probst, Roth and Stewart, (9). roes:None. Absent:Nene. Mr. Bullock introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption; V' R.ESOLVED by the Council of the city of Alameda that there be transferred from the Electric Tight Fund to the General Fund the sum of Seven Thousand, five hundrel; and ninety-five and 18/100 (7,595.18) Dollars, same being an amount equal to the city lighting bill for the three months ending December 31st 1913. The Auditor is hereby authorized to make the said transfer upon his books. Wr. Roth seconded the motion to adopt the Resolution and it was passed and adopted by the following vote: Ayes:Councilmen Bartlett, Bullock, Hammond MacRae, Morgenstern, Morris Probst, Roth and Stewart, (9). V A Bill for an Ordinance entitled "A Bill for Ordinance No. New Series,-to Amend Section 203 of Article Vil, Chapter IV of Ordinance To. 1, New F3eries, known as the Municipal Code of the City of Alameda, approved Jane 14, 1913 by re-enacting said section as amended," relating to driving near standing street cars, as introduced by Mr. Bullock and laid over under the provisions of the Charter. A Bill for an Ordinance entitled "4, Bill for Ordinance o. New Series to Amend Section 774, Chapter X of Ordinance No, 1, New Series, known as the Municipal Code of the City of Alamerla ap- proved January 14, 1914 by re-enacting aid section as mended", having to do with the possession of lottery tickets or lottery implements, introduced by Mr. Stewart on March 17, carne up for passage. V' Mr. Probst stated that there was need of a sidewalk at McKinley Park on Walnut Street, between Buena Vista Avenue and Clement Avenue. He moved that the Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids for the same, seconded by Mr. Bullock and carried by the following vote:- Ayes:Councilmen Bartlett, Bullock Hammond, MacRae, Morgenstern, Morris Probst, Roth and Stewart, (9). V Mr. Probst mentioned also that the matter of hauling garbage on High Street had been investigated and upon his motion, seconded by Mr. Bartlett and duly carried the matter was dropped. I/Mr. Stewart brought up the matter of the license on Undertakers. He moved that the City Attorney draw up an Ordinance to abolish the license on undertakers, seconded by Mr. Morris and carried by the following vote:- Ayes:Councilmen Bartlett, Bullock, Hammond, MacRae, Morgenstern, Morris, Probst, Roth and Stewart, (9). Noes:None.. Absent:None. t/Mr. Morgenstern broupht up the matter of transportation for west end residents. He moved that the Public Utilities Committee look Apri 7 th, 1914. Stewart and duly carried. Probst brought up the matter of fire protection in the factory district at the northerly end of Webster Street. He moved that it be referred to the Street Superintendent and City Engineer to report back to the Council at its next meeting, seconded by Mr. 3art].ett and carried. Mr. Herman Dreist made a few remarks on the matter of the im- provement of streets. No action however was taken by the Council.
