Report from the Executive Director recommending the approval of the ARRA budget for fiscal year 2002 -2003. Member Johnson moved approval of the recommendation. The motion was seconded by Member Kerr and passed by the following voice vote: Ayes -5; Noes -0; Abstentions -0. 3. ACTION ITEMS 3 -A. Report and recommendation from the Executive Director to approve a new contract and contract amendment for Northgate Environmental for environmental consulting services. The public hearing was closed for Authority discussion, as there were no speakers. Member Johnson moved approval of the recommendation. Schulz has served as a member of the original BRAG since its inception in 1993. His insight and passionate vision of what Alameda Point can be, helped immeasurably in giving direction and persistence to achieve the community's vision; and Whereas, Larold K. Schulz has served as chairman of the Human Impact and Resources Task Force on the Alameda Point Advisory Committee, and has demonstrated tremendous commitment and responsibility to the broader community of Alameda through contributions to many local social service and human relations efforts, including through founding or leadership roles in the Alameda Development Corporation, Alameda Homeless Network and Alameda Point Collaborative; and Whereas, Larold K. Schulz has had a long- standing commitment to social justice in our community; and Whereas, Larold K. Schulz has been a outspoken and effective advocate of peace and social justice throughout his life, from his work as director of the Commission for Racial Justice and a liaison to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the early civil rights movement, to his tireless efforts to create and sustain Alameda's first emergency homeless shelter; and Whereas, Larold K. Schulz and his wife, Donna Danielson, former Director of the Alameda Free Library's Adult Literacy Program, will relocate in July of this year to join a retirement community of faith -based community leaders in Claremont, California. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ralph J. Appezzato, Mayor of the City of Alameda, do hereby declare July 3, 2002 as ae _Om ..gcoe d / (X. (Teitu4 2e7 and thank the Reverend Larold K.
