1981-12-10 Special CC Meeting192 A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA HELD THURSDAY DECEMBER 10, 1981 The meeting convened at 7:30 p.m. with President Corica presiding. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by President Corica. ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen Diament, Gorman, Sherratt, Stone, and President Corica - 5. Absent: None. The purpose of the Special Meeting was for presentations by companies submitting Cable Television proposals. Stella Zadeh, CBS, Inc., introduced members of the CBS staff, and they made a television presentation and summarized their proposal. Steve Simi, Island City Communications Corp., introduced members of the Island City staff, and they made a slide presentation and summarized their proposal. Lance Russum, Island City Communications Corp., stated that an additional $50,000, in addition to what is included in the proposal, woould be contributed by Island City to generate and insure local generation. Mr. Russum referred to a letter dated October 14, 1981, from the School District and some other schools and outlined equipment and training programs Island City would provide. (A subsequent letter dated December 23, 1981, detailing these commitments is on file in the Office of City Clerk.) President Corica stated that the consultant hired by the City would review all of the Cable Television proposals and submit a recommendation to the City Council, tentatively February 16, 1982,and public comments would be heard tentatively on March 2, 1982.
