MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL JOINT CITY COUNCIL
AND SUCCESSOR AGENCY TO THE COMMUNITY
IMPROVEMENT COMMISSION (SACIC) MEETING
TUESDAY- -FEBRUARY 3, 2015- -6:59 P.M.
Mayor/Chair Spencer convened the meeting at 7:05 p.m. Ruth Abbe led the Pledge of
Allegiance.
Roll Call - Present: Councilmembers/Agency Members Daysog, Ezzy
Ashcraft, Matarrese, Oddie and Mayor/Chair Spencer
– 5.
Absent: None.
Oral Communications
None.
Agenda Items
(15-084 CC/15-003 SACIC) Recommendation to Accept the First Quarter Financial
Report for the Period Ending September 30, 2014.
The Interim Finance Director gave a Power Point presentation.
Councilmember Daysog stated Alameda is spending less than 25% which is good
news; each quarter should represent 25% of the budget; transient occupancy grew by
50% compared to previous years; the Harbor Bay Parkway commercial area is what
drives sales tax in Alameda.
Mayor Spencer inquired what is the $313,000 adjustment.
The Interim Finance Director responded the Franchise Tax Board reviews Alameda
companies that report sales outside of the City and make adjustments.
Councilmember/Agency Member Ezzy Ashcraft moved approval of the staff
recommendation.
Vice Mayor/Agency Member Matarrese seconded the motion, which carried by
unanimous voice vote – 5.
Adjournment
There being no further business, Mayor/Chair Spencer adjourned the meeting at 7:22
p.m.
