MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
ALAMEDA REUSE AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
Tuesday, March 13, 2001
The meeting convened at 5:05 p.m. with Chair Appezzato presiding.
1. ROLL CALL
Present: Ralph Appezzato, Mayor, City of Alameda
Albert DeWitt, Councilmember, City of Alameda
Beverly Johnson, Councilmember, City of Alameda
Barbara Kerr, Councilmember, City of Alameda
Tony Daysog, Councilmember, City of Alameda
2. ACTION ITEMS
2 -A. Recommendation from the Executive Director to accept the selection team's
recommendation of a "short list" for Alameda Point Master Developer. (Item previously
listed as 3 -A)
Doug Yount, Development Services Director asked the Board to accept the recommendation of
the short list for Alameda Point Master Developer. There were seven responses to the Request
for Qualifications which was released on December 27, 2000. A Master Developer Selection
Team was formed comprised of six community members and five City staff members. The
Selection Team met four times and evaluated the responses submitted by the seven development
teams. The Selection Team has recommended a short list of four of the seven developers
including are Industrial Realty Group and Alameda Point Community Partners (Shea/Centex)
who have merged together as one team; Catellus Development and Harbor Bay/Lennar LLC.
There were no public speakers.
The public hearing was closed for Authority discussion.
Member Johnson moved approval of the recommendation. The motion was seconded by
Member DeWitt and passed by the following voice vote: Ayes -5; Noes -0; Abstentions -0.

Discussion.
Member Johnson acknowledged that Kaufman and Broad has withdrawn their application from
the selection process.
Member Kerr suggested that any future information sent to the Master Developer Selection Team
committee, should also be sent to Governing Body so that they receive information timely.
3. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS, NON - AGENDA (PUBLIC COMMENT)
(Any person may address the governing body in regard to any matter over which the
governing body has jurisdiction that is not on the agenda.)
None.
4. ADJOURNMENT
The special meeting was adjourned at 5:10 p.m.
