AUTHORIZING THE INTERIM CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT
WITH MOFFATT & NICHOL TO PROVIDE DESIGN AND PERMITTING SERVICES
FOR ENCINAL BOAT LAUNCH FACILITY RENOVATION IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $226,302 (RECREATION 91110).
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda received a $300,000 planning grant from the
California State Parks Department, Division of Boating and Waterways to fund design
and required permits for the Encinal Boat Launch Facility renovation;
WHEREAS, a statement of qualifications was issued to Architect / Engineer firms
to provide design, permitting, establishment of engineer's estimate of probable
construction cost and related services for renovation of the Encinal Boat Launch Facility;
WHEREAS, Moffatt & Nichol was unanimously chosen based on their extensive
experience with marine project design and their approach to this project;
WHEREAS, the Moffatt & Nichol agreement for detailed design is to not exceed
$226,302 and includes design and permits to several regional, state and federal agencies;
WHEREAS, Encinal Boat Launch Facility Renovation will also require permits from
the Army Corps of Engineers, BCDC and the Regional Water Quality Board and these
permits are designed to ensure appropriate actions are taken during construction to avoid
construction impacts to biological and/or water quality resources;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Alameda hereby authorize the agreement with Moffatt & Nichol to provide design and
permitting services for Encinal Boat Launch Facility renovation in the amount of $226,302.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in special meeting
assembled on the 1St day of December, 2015, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, Ezzy Ashcraft, Matarrese, Oddie
and Mayor Spencer — 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
