ACCEPTING CONVEYANCE FROM JOHN C. GRANTHAM AND SHIRLEY
A. GRANTHAM, HIS WIFE, OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY AND
CONSENTING TO THE RECORDATION THEREOF.
WHEREAS, a certain indenture dated the 30th day of September, 1946,
made by and between John C. Grantham and Shirley A. Grantham, his wife, as
parties of the first part, and the City of Alameda, a municipal corporation,
as party of the second part, was, on or about said date, executed and delivered
by said grantors to the said City of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, by said indenture said grantors granted to the City of
Alameda all that certain piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being in
the City of Alameda, County ofAlameda, State of California, and described as
follows:
BEGINNING at the southeast corner of acre lot
8 of the Washington Woodward. Survey, as the same appears
from and in the Recorder's Office of Alameda County;
thence North 1* 35 east 46.22 feet, more or less, along
the western line of the old Bowman Ditch, to a point in
the southern line of Pacific Avenue; thence north 88* 25'
West along said line of Pacific Avenue 290 feet to the
western line of said lot 8, also the eastern line of 4th
Street; thence south 1* 35' west along said eastern line
of 4th Street 46.22 feet, more or less, to the southwestern
corner of said lot 8; and thence south 88* 25' east along the
southern line of said lot 8 a distance of 290 feet, more or
less, to the point of beginning.
CONTAINING an area of 13,403 square feet more or less.
Reference is made to said indenture for further particulars; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda did, on November 6, 1946, accept said
conveyance and acquired possession of the above described parcel of real
property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
that the aforementioned indenture be, and the same is hereby, accepted on
behalf of the City of Alameda, and said City Council, acting for and in behalf
of said City, hereby consents to the recordation of said indenture and orders
this Resolution to be attached thereto, as required by Section 1158 of the
Civil Code of the State of California.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of
Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 6th day of November, 1946, by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Howe, Jones, Osborn, Sweeney and President
Branscheid, (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
