AUTHORIZING AND RATIFYING INVESTMENT OF '300,000.
FROM ACTIVE FUNDS OF TEL CITY OF ALAYEDA..NOW ON
DEPOSIT 18 BANKS, IN 7/8 188 0887 TREASURY
CERTIFICATES.
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda now has, and has had, active moneys an
hard in bank deposits in excess of f300,000.; and
WHEEAS, it is in the public interest that ;300,000. out oC the afore-
said funds be invested in 7/8 Per Cent United States of America Treasury Certi-
ficates of Indebtedness of Series A-1946, maturing January 1, 1948;

that the amount of q?600 000., from active funds of the

banks, be, and it is hereby ordered to be, invested in
8 Per Cent United
States of America Treasury Oertificates of indebtedness of Series A-1946, matur-
ing January 1, 1948, and the Treasurer of the Gity of Alameda is hereby autho-
rized and directed to purchase forthwith, on behalf of the City of Alameda, and
out of the moneys hereinabove referred to, said Treasury Certificates, as
aforesaid,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if the said Treasurer invested said money
in said securitie,, prior to the date of this resolution, then and in that event
the action of said Treasurer in making said investment be, and the same is
hereby ratified.
