RESOLUTION NO. 3463
CREATING A SPECIAL FUND TO BE KNOWN AS "POLICE TRAVEL
REVOLVING FUND" , AND TRANSFE,RI7G THERETO FROV BUDGET

WHEREAS, from time to time emergencies arise in the matter of returning
prisoners to the local jurisdiction from points within the State of California;
and
WHEREAS, it is deemed desirable anC to the best interests of the City
of Alameda that funds be made readily available for defraying the traveling ex-
pense of police officers dispatched to return said prisoners,
NOW EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TE E COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALATIEDA
that there be, and there is hereby, created and established a special fund to
be known as !Police Travel Revolving Eund", the unexpended balance of thich shall
at no time exceed the sun of Five Hundred Dollars (h500.00);
BE IT FUT)TSER RSOLVED that such f. id shall be expended only for the
travel expense of police officers dispatched to points within and without the
State of California for the purpose of returning prisoners to the local juris-
diction, and withdrawals shall be :lade from such fund upon demands signed by
both the City l'anager and City Auditor, but not otherwise audited, allowed or
approved.
LE IT FUR= RESOLVED that it shall be the duty of the Chief of
Police to prepare and file appropriate claims against the State of California
for all moneys expended out of such fund in cases involving interstate travel
of police officers, and to reimburse said fund for all intrastate expenditures
by presentinG appropriate demands against the general fund of the City of
Alameda.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there be, and there is hereby, trans-
ferred to said. Police Travel Revolving - d, from Budget Account 70-b, the
sum of Five Hundred Dollars (.S500.00), and the Auditor and Treasurer of the
City of Alameda are hereby authorized and directed to make the necessary
entries upon the books of their respective o-fices.
