CALLING GENERAL MUNICIPA- ELECTION TO BE ITIAD IN THE CITY
OE eliAl:EDA ON MARCH 11, 1947; ESTABLISHING ELECTION
PRECINCTS; FIXING NUMBER CF ELECTION OFFICERS ON THE BOARD
OF ELECTION FOR EACH PRECINCT; AND FIXING COMPENSATION OF
ELECTION OFFICERS.
WHEREAS Article XIX of the Charter of the City of Alameda provides
that a General Y. icipal Election shall be held in said City on Tuesday, March
11, 1947; and
WHEREAS, at said General 7 i al Election and aneL pursuant to the
provisions of the Charter of said City, officers are to be elected to fill the
office of Co oilman, for full terms;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY T.:E COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
that a General M icipal Election be, and is hereby, called and ordered to be
held in said City of Alameda, for the purpose of electing two (2) Co cilmen
on the City Council of said. City for tennis as follows:
Two (2) Councilmen on the Council of said. City, for two (2)
full terms, each term commencing at 8:00 o'clock P. N., on
the third Tuesday in April, 1947, and continuing for four
(4) years thereafter and until a successor is elected and
qualified;
and for the purpose of voting on any measure or proposition which may lawfully
be submitted at said election.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 113 election precincts within the
City of Alameda, designated and numbered consecutively from No. 1 to No. 105,
both inclusive, as the same were last heretofore defined, designated, fixed
and established by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Alameda, State
of California, by resolutions of said ,ioard, No. 37, 927 adopted December 11,
1941, and No. 38, 790 adopted July 9, 1942, as the election precincts within
the City of Alameda for holding General State and County Elections, also
No. 106, consolidating precincts Nos. 106, 107 and 108; No. 109, consolidating
precincts Nos. 109, 110 and 111; No. 112, consolidating precincts Nos. 112, 113,
114, 115 and 116; No. 117, consolidating precincts Nos. 117, 118 and 119; No. 120,
consolidating precincts Nos. 120 and 121; No. 122, consolidating precincts Nos.
122 and 123; No. 124, consolidating precincts Nos. 124 and 125; and Yo. 126 be,
and the same are hereby, fixed, designated and established as the election pre-
cincts for holding the aforesaid General Municipal Election. All of the afore-
mentioned consolidations were authorized by Resolution No. 3466, adopted by the
Council of the City of Alameda on January 21, 1947.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Election for each election
precinct at said General Municipal Election shall consist of one Inspector,
one Judge, and two Clerks.
EEJOLVED, TTUT- 'la, that the compensation to be paid to each of the
election officers for conducting said General Dinicipal Election be, and the
same is hereby, fixed at the such of 0.00; provided, that the additional sum
of 31.00 shall be paid to the election officer who delivers the returns to
the City Clerk.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the City Clerk be, and he is hereby, directed
to do and perform any and all acts required of him under the Charter of the
City of Alameda and the laws of the State of California in respect to said
General Municipal Election.
BE IT FUTZT:7;17Z 11-10LVED that said General Municipal Election called and
ordered to be held, as aforesaid, shall be held and conducted, and the votes cast
thereat received and canvassed, and the returns thereof made, and the result
thereof ascertained, determined and declared, as herein provided, and in all
particulars not recited herein, in accordance with the Charter of said City of
Alameda and the laws of. the, State of California governing said General TTunicipal
Election.
