ACCEPT A GRANT OF EASEMENT FROM THE ALAMEDA UNIFIED
SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR A PORTION OF THE ENCINAL BOAT
LAUNCH FACILITY AND DIRECT THE RECORDING OF THE GRANT
EASEMENT
WHEREAS, the Alameda Unified School District (AUSD) owns certain real property
located at the Encinal High School site in Alameda, California, more particularly described
in Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference; and
WHEREAS, the City operates a public boat ramp at the Encinal Boat Launch Facility
to the west of Encinal High School; and
WHEREAS, on January 26, 2016, the AUSD Board of Directors granted an
easement at Encinal High School for the City's use as part of the Encinal Boat Launch
Facility in exchange for $1.00; and
WHEREAS, AUSD, as a public school district resolved that it is not and will not use
this property for school classroom buildings; and
WHEREAS, AUSD provided an easement and right of way for the City to install,
construct, maintain, repair and use a public boat ramp to be used for recreation purposes
on said property.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda
does hereby authorize the Mayor to accept the easement at Encinal High School for the
use as the Encinal Boat Launch Facility and as shown in the attached Grant of Easement,
and direct the City Clerk to record in Alameda County the Grant of Easement.

That portion of Tide Land Lot 20, in Section 10, Township 2 South, Range 4 West, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian,
described as follows:
Beginning at the southeastern corner of Lot 21 in said Section 10, as described in that certain Lease Between City of
Alameda and the United States of America, numbered Noy (R) 514077, executed July 1,1955; thence north along the
southeastern line of said Lot 21,122.20 feet, said line being also the western boundary of Encinal High School; thence
South 18° 36' 43 "East, 153.16 feet, to the southern boundary of said Encinal High School; thence north 641 51' West,
54 feet to the point of beginning.
