Resolution 15215CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 15215 AMENDING THE GENERAL FUND AND THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FUND BY $140,000 FOR THE RECONFIGURATION OF THE CITY ATTORNEY'S OFFICE WHEREAS, on June 2, 2015, the City Council did adopt a biennial budget representing the financial plan for conducting the affairs of the City of Alameda for the Fiscal Years beginning July 1, 2015 and ending June 30, 2017; and WHEREAS, on June 7, 2016, the City Council did adopt Resolution 15157 approving workforce changes in the City Attorney's Office; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney's Office is recruiting for an Assistant City Attorney 11; M WHEREAS, the City Attorney's Office needs to provide a work space for the new Assistant City Attorney 11; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney's Office has worked with Public Works, Finance and the City Manager's Office to identify the most cost effective design to add a lawyer's office to existing space; and WHEREAS, in order to have the necessary office available at the time the new attorney commences work, it is requested that $140,000 be appropriated from the available reserves of the General Fund with the intention those funds be replaced with proceeds of the Tidal Canal property sales anticipated to be received by the end of January 2017; and WHEREAS, the Council has considered the report and recommendations of the City Manager on the budget amendments and has determined that the budget amendments are both fair and appropriate; and WHEREAS, this budget ensures that the City of Alameda has exercised prudent judgment in its fiduciary responsibility as guardian of the public tax dollars. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Alameda that the amendments to the City's Fiscal Year 2016-17 Budget are approved, by increasing the General Fund transfers out by $140,000 and increasing the Capital Improvement Fund transfers in and expenditures by $140,000 each to pay for the City Attorney's Office reconfiguration. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on 201h day of December, 2016 by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, Ezzy Ashcraft, Matarrese, Oddie and Mayor Spencer — 5.
