IN SUPPORT OF CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATION OF
PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP
WHEREAS, various reports have alleged that President Trump may be in violation
of the Foreign Emoluments Clause and the Domestic Emoluments Clause of the U.S.
Constitution; and
WHEREAS, information has become public alleging that President Trump and his
associates may have colluded with foreign authorities to coordinate illegal efforts to
influence the outcome of the election and to undermine U.S. government policy regarding
sanctions associated with alleged foreign interference in the 2016 presidential election; and
WHEREAS, these alleged conflicts of interest and activities could be in violation of
the Constitution and U.S. law.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLVES to support
Congresswoman Barbara Lee and others to investigate whether such violations occurred
and are sufficient grounds for the impeachment of Donald J. Trump, President of the United
States.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting
assembled on the 71h day of March 2017, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Ezzy Ashcraft, Matarrese, Oddie, Vella and
Mayor Spencer — 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
