APPROVING WORKFORCE CHANGES AT ALAMEDA MUNICIPAL
POWER TO DELETE FOUR POSITIONS, ELECTRICAL
MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN; ADD TWO NEW POSITIONS, METER
TECHNICIAN AND ADD TWO NEW POSITIONS, SUBSTATION
TECHNICIAN; AND AMEND THE SALARY SCHEDULE OF THE
INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS
(IBEW)
WHEREAS, in order to provide a workforce that is appropriately allocated,
classified and compensated at Alameda Municipal Power workforce change are needed;
and
WHEREAS, to meet service demands related to system upgrades and projects
the Public Utilities Board recommended at its regular meeting on February 27, 2017 that
the City Council delete four Electrical Maintenance Technician positions, add two Meter
Technician positions and two Substation Technician positions; and amend the salary
schedule of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) to add the
classification titles of Meter Technician and Substation Technician.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Alameda that the following workforce changes are approved and that the City's
authorized positions are so modified:
Alameda Municipal Power
a. Delete four Electrical Maintenance Technician positions
b. Add two Meter Technician positions
c. Add two Substation Technician positions
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT F U R T H E R RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Alameda that the salary schedule of the International Brotherhood of
Electrical Workers (IBEW) is hereby amended effective April 2, 2017 to establish
the salary rates, salary ranges, salary steps and benefits for the classifications of Meter
Technician and Substation Technician, designating these as applicable to this
classification in the service of the City of Alameda.
