ACCEPTING A GRANT OF EASEMENT TO THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
FROM THE FIRST 5 ALAMEDA COUNTY FOR SEWER PUMP
STATION AND RELATED PUBLIC UTILITY PUSPOSES LOCATED
WITHIN LOT 1 OF PARCEL MAP 5435 AND DIRECTING THE
RECORDING OF THE GRANT OF EASEMENT
WHEREAS, the Alameda Public Works Department has developed a Capital
Improvement Plan to rehabilitate its sanitary sewer pump stations, and
WHEREAS, the plans for the Group 3 - Sewer Pump Station Renovations for
Reliability and Safety Improvements Project are reliant on the need of a permanent
sewer easement within Lot 1 of Parcel Map 5435; and
WHEREAS, the First 5 Alameda County, the owner of Lot 1 of Parcel Map 5435,
has agreed to convey to the City of Alameda a permanent easement within its property
for sewer pump station and related Public Utility purposes in exchange for $3,000; and
WHEREAS, the interests of the City of Alameda, its residents, and businesses
will benefit by the improved sanitary sewer pump station.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of City of Alameda
does hereby authorize the Mayor to accept the permanent sewer easement located
within Lot 1 of Parcel Map 5435, as set forth and described in the attached Grant of
Easement, and direct the City Clerk to record in Alameda County the Grant of
Easement.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular
meeting assembled on the 6th day of June, 2017, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Ezzy Ashcraft, Oddie, Vella and Mayor
Spencer — 4.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilmember Matarrese — 1.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
