Resolution 15416CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 15416 AUTHORIZING THE ACTING CITY MANAGER OR HER DESIGNEE TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE PURCHASE AGREEMENTS IN AN AMOUNT NOT EXCEED $268,000 FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF SIX POLICE DEPARTMENT VEHICLES AND ONE POLICE MOTORCYCLE WHEREAS, on June 19, 2018, the City Council did adopt the Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-19 Mid -Cycle Budget Update which provided for the replacement of six Police Department Vehicles and one Motorcycle; and WHEREAS, the Police Department wishes to acquire two Ford Police Interceptor Vehicles, one Ford Fiesta Vehicle, one Ford F150 Pickup Truck, two Ford Police Response Hybrid Sedans and one BMW 1200 RT -Police Motorcycle to replace vehicles which have reached the end of their useful life; and WHEREAS, the approximate aggregate replacement costs including the special equipment needed to outfit the six Police Vehicles and one Police Motorcycle is $268,000; and WHEREAS, staff expects to purchase the six Police Vehicles through a State of California certified Ford vendor and the police motorcycle through a certified BMW dealer; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered staff's report and recommendations and has determined that the approximate replacement costs identified above are both fair and appropriate.
