AUTHORIZING THE INTERIM CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
AGREEMENTS AND ALL RELATED DOCUMENTS WITH THE
CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TAX AND FEE ADMINISTRATION
FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CITY'S HALF-CENT
TRANSACTIONS AND USE TAX (MEASURE F) APPROVED BY THE
VOTERS AT THE NOVEMBER 6, 2018 GENERAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, on July 10, 2018, the City Council approved Ordinance No. 3231
amending the City of Alameda Municipal Code and providing for a local transactions and
usetax;and
WHEREAS, the foregoing Ordinance was approved by a majority vote of the voters
of the City of Alameda at a General Election held on November 6, 2018; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration
(Department) administers and collects the transactions and use taxes for all applicable
jurisdictions within the state; and
WHEREAS, the Department will be responsible to administer and collect the
transactions and use tax for the City; and
WHEREAS, the Department requires that the City enter into an "Agreement for
Preparation to Administer and Operate City's Transactions and Use Tax Ordinance" and
an "Agreement for State Administration of City Transaction and Use Taxes" prior to
implementation of said taxes; and
WHEREAS, the Department requires that the City Council authorize the
agreements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that
said agreements are hereby approved and that the Interim City Manager, or his or her
designee, is authorized to execute them on behalf of the City of Alameda and is further
authorized to execute any subsequent revisions to the agreements, if requested by the
Department; and
BE IT FURHTER RESOLVED that the Interim City Manager, or his or her
designee, is authorized to execute any related documents with the Department required
in order for the Department to administer and collect the transactions and use tax.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting
assembled on the 15th day of January, 2019 by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, Knox White, Oddie, Vella and
Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft-5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
