AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR (FY) 2019-2020 BUDGET TO
INCREASE APPROPRIATIONS IN THE GENERAL FUND BY
$250,000, IN THE BASE REUSE BUDGET BY $97,500 AND IN THE
COMMERCIAL REVITALIZATION BUDGET BY $250,000 IN ORDER
TO FUND A $600,000 COVID-19 SMALL BUSINESS RELIEF GRANT
PROGRAM
WHEREAS, on June 19, 2019, the City Council did adopt a budget representing the
financial plan for conducting the affairs of the City of Alameda for the Fiscal Year
beginning July 1, 2019 and ending June 30, 2021; and
WHEREAS, staff are now proposing that budget adjustments be made to the FY
2019/2020 budget in order to provide $600,000 from three funding sources to support
the COVID-19 Small Business Relief Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, staff is proposing that General Fund appropriations be increased by
$250,000; and
WHEREAS, staff is proposing that Base Reuse Fund appropriations be increased
by $97,500;
WHEREAS, staff is proposing that Commercial Revitalization Fund appropriations
be increased by $125,000;
WHEREAS, staff is proposing that the $125,000 amount in Commercial
Revitalization Fund budgeted for Fagade Grants in FY 20/21 be move to FY 19/20 for
the COVID-19 Small Business Relief Grant Program;
WHEREAS, the Council has considered the report and recommendations of the
City Manager on the budget amendment and has determined that the budget
amendment is both fair and appropriate; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has given this budget due consideration as to its
projected revenues, anticipated expenditures and available fund balances.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda
that said Council hereby approves increasing the General Fund budget by $250,000;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that said
Council approves increasing the City's Base Reuse Fund Fiscal Year 2019-20 budget
by $97,500; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that said
Council approves increasing the City's Commercial Revitalization Fund Fiscal Year
2019-20 budget by $125,000; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that said
Council approves a budget amendment to the City's Commercial Revitalization . Fund
budget to use appropriations for Fagade Grants for FY 20/21 in FY 19/20 budget to fund
the COVID-19 Small Business Relief Grant Program.
