APPROVING A WORKFORCE. CHANGE IN THE COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT TO ALLOCATE ONE
CLASSIFICATION, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
MANAGER, EFFECTIVE AUGUST 1, 2020
WHEREAS, at the start of Fiscal Year 2014-15, in response to the Housing
Authority transitioning back to an independent public agency in 2012, the job functions
of the Community Development Program Manager in the Development Services
Department were transferred to the Alameda Housing Authority; and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Department has proposed that the job
functions of the Community Development Program Manager, which include managing
the Community Development Block Grant and Home Investment Partnerships programs,
be transferred back to the City; and
WHEREAS, this action will allow the Community Development Department to
effectively manage critical community development and affordable housing functions such
as the federal CDBG/HOME programs and first-time homebuyer and lnclusionary Housing
programs; and
WHEREAS, staff has recommended that the City Council add one Community
Development Program Manager to the department's allocated classifications.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Alameda that the following workforce change is approved and that the City's authorized
classifications are so modified:
Add one Community Development Program Manager to the budgeted
classification allocation for the Community Development Department at its current
compensation range .
