APPROVING A BUDGET AMENDMENT TO REAPPROPRIATE
VEHICLE PURCHASE FUNDS FROM FISCAL YEAR 2019-20 TO
FISCAL YEAR 2020-21
WHEREAS, due to the work delays caused by the recent COVID-19 emergency
the Fleet Manager was not able to complete all necessary specifications and details to
finalize purchase orders for important City fleet purchases; and
WHEREAS, the lead time needed to receive certain vehicles after purchase orders
are issued makes the carry-over of certain unspent budget dollars from the 2019-20 to
the 2020-21 fiscal year: and
WHEREAS, the books have not yet been closed for the 2019-20 fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED, that the Interim Finance Director is
hereby authorized to reappropriate, or re-budget unspent vehicle purchase
budgets from the 2019-20 budget into the 2020-21 budget as follows:
• $2,800,000 is hereby carried forward within the Vehicle
Replacement Fund, and
• $456,000 is hereby carried forward within the Sewer Enterprise
Fund; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Fleet Manager is
hereby authorized to use carried over budget funds for the purposes for which they
were budgeted in 2019-20; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the source of funding for
these reappropriations are the balances remaining in the Vehicle Replacement and
the Sewer Enterprise Fund budgets as of June 30, 2020.

adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled
on the 21st day of July 2020, by the following vote to wit:
AYES : Councilmembers Daysog, Knox White, Oddie, Vella and
Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft -5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
