AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2020-21 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
PROGRAM BUDGET BY ALLOCATING $100,000 IN LOCAL
MEASURE B/BB PARATRANSIT FUNDS TO CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT FUND 91818 TO CONSTRUCT THE OTIS
DRIVE SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda (City) has designed safety improvements for Otis
Drive between Westline Drive and Willow Street; and
WHEREAS, the project improves the operations and safety of the AC Transit bus
lines and paratransit service by moving the bus stops from the near side to the far side of
intersections, providing Americans with Disabilities (ADA) improvements, and removing
low ridership bus stops; and
WHEREAS, bus stop accessibility improvement at new bus stops were not part of
the project scope when the project was originally budgeted; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the City's annual Paratransit Measure B/BB monies are
reserved for eligible use for ADA accessibility capital improvements and bus stop
accessibility improvements; and
WHEREAS, in order to allocate these funds in the Fiscal Year 2020-21 budget,
Council action is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that
allocation of $100,000 in Measures B/BB Paratransit Funds to Capital Improvement
Project Fund 91818 for Fiscal Year 2020-21 are approved.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting
assembled on the 1 st day of September 2020, by the following vote to wit:
