Resolution 15751CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 15751 AMENDING THE SALARY SCHEDULE FOR MANAGEMENT AND CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEES AND FOR EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES AND APPROVING WORKFORCE CHANGES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2020-21 EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 28, 2021 WHEREAS, in order to ensure that the City has a workforce that is appropriately allocated, classified and compensated, the following changes are proposed as part of the Mid -Year FY 2020-21 Budget; and WHEREAS, the role of Public Information Officer and the current job title and duties identified in the job specification no longer reflect all the responsibilities of the position. In order to recognize the expansion in responsibilities of the position it is recommended to change the name of the position to Communications and Legislative Affairs Manager and move the position from the Management and Confidential Employees Association to Executive Management Employees salary schedule in increase the top step of the salary range from $129,130 to $146,255; and WHEREAS, in order to provide additional support within the Finance department in the areas of budget, policy and procedure development, procurement/purchasing and the upgrade to the new Enterprise Resource Planning System it is recommended to reclassify one Accounting Technician to Administrative Management Analyst; and WHEREAS, in order to ensure staff in Planning, Building and Transportation are able to support the permitting process it is recommended to reclassify one Permit Tech I to Permit Tech III and to extend on limited term Permit Technician position for an additional two years, through April 1 of 2023; and WHEREAS, in order to provide support for fire code compliance reclassify one Senior Fire Code Compliance Officer to Fire Apparatus Officer. This change was approved as part of the Mid -Cycle FY 2020-21 budget but was not included in the resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda that the workforce changes as outlined above and in the attached salary schedules are so modified. I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting assembled on the 2nd of March, 2021, by the following vote to wit: AYES: Councilmember Knox White, Vella and Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft —3.
