AMENDING THE MANAGEMENT AND CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEES
ASSOCIATION (MCEA) SALARY SCHEDULE TO INCREASE THE
SALARY RANGE FOR THE JOB CLASSIFICATION OF BASE REUSE
MANAGER, EFFECTIVE THE FIRST FULL PAY PERIOD FOLLOWING
APPROVAL.
WHEREAS, the Community Development Department is responsible for the
managing the redevelopment of the former Naval Air Station at Alameda Point; and
WHEREAS, within the Community Development Department the job classification
of Base Reuse Manager is primarily responsible for the overall management, coordination
and administration of the complex redevelopment, real estate development and capital
improvement activities at Alameda Point; and
WHEREAS, the Base Reuse Manager job classification was recently revised to
include both a greater scope and an increased complexity of work including more direct
responsibility for the negotiation and administration of complex real estate transactions and
other ancillary development documents.; and
WHEREAS, in order to remain competitive in the job market for the specialized
knowledge and skills required by the Base Reuse Manager job classification and in order to
accurately reflect the increased experience and responsibilities
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda
that the MCEA Salary Schedule is hereby amended, as shown below, effective the first full
pay period following approval, to establish the salary rate, range, and salary steps.for the
classification of Base Reuse Manager, designating these as applicable to this classification
in the service of the City of Alameda.
