ALATADA TO EXCEPT PCSITICN FROY TEE CIVIL SERVICE
SYSTEM OF TEE CITY OF ALATEDA.
17HETHEAS3 t -1 -le Council of the City of Alameda has created, or will create,
a position of "Administrative Assistant to the City Kanager;" and

the said position of Administrative Assistant to the City.

Yanaoer is of a confidential nature and it is impossible to determine fitness
by competitive examination; and
W,TLIE'REAS, reasons of public policy and the best interests of the City
of Alameda require that said position of Administrative Assistant to the City
LhnaEer be excepted from the Civil Service System of the City cal Alameda;
NOW TEEHERCRE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL 0'17' THE CITY OF ALA!,EDA
that pursuant to Section 3 of Ordinance No. 642, New Series, entitled, An Ordi-
nance Establishing and Regulating the Civil Service System of the City of Ala-
meda, adopted Nay 24, 2938, the Council of the City of Alameda does hereby
request the Civil Service Board of the City of Alameda to except fron the Civil,
Service System of the City of Alameda the position of Adrinistrative Assistant
to the City Manager, such exception to continue until revoked by the Civil
Service Board.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that tHe foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council cf the Cit j of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 2nd day of June, 1949, by the following vote,
to wit:
