ViHMiE4S, the State of California, under Chapter 20, Statutes of 1946
(First Extra Session), as amended, has appropriated funds forallotment to provide
for financiai assistance to Local Agencies, defined therein as counties, cities
and counties, or cities, so that they may engage in a large public works construc-
tion program in order to prevent and alleviate unemployment; and
WfLREAS, the City of Alameda desires to apply for an allotment of State
aid for the construction of a public works project under said Act: and
,MEHEAS, an application to tNe State Director of Finance for such an

allotment has been prepared and presented to Kis Legislative Body for cunsidera-
tion; and
REPAS, said City has made provisions for paying that portion of the
cost of the project not requested as an allotment from tAe State;
UOW ThEREFORE) 31, IT RE'SOLVED that said City submit the aforesaid appli-
cation for State aid for construction of a public works project to the Director of
Finance, requesting an allotment of Seventeen Thousand, Two Hundred Fifty and
no 100 ($17,250.00) Dollars, or an allotment of such amount as may be allotted by
the State Allocution Board;
13E K 1TURTHER RESOLVED that saia City hereby certifies that the total
estimate of cost to be paid for the construction of the Sewa,.,�e Pumping Plant—
Bay Farm Island (Project ho.20-4), for whiV said Cit,,, is aaaakinl application
under said Act, is Thirty-four Thousand, Five Hundrod and no/100 034,00.00)
Dollars; and
B!T FUIMLREMIVED that said City of Alameda hereby requests the
State to pay the State's share of tho total actual cost of construction of the
project for which said City is making application for aid;
BE IT FURTH1,01H RESOLVED$ that for the purpose of this request, Don C.
Mcliilan, City hanaGer of the City of Alameda, be, and he hereby is, designated
as the authorized agent of said City, and is hereby authorized and directed to
sign the herein mentioned application of said City and to submit the same to the
State Director of Finance, together with a certified statement of the total esti-
mated cost to be paid for construction of the project herein mentioned and such
other information as may be required; and said authorized agent is further
authorized and diructed, as representative of said City, to cunduct all negotia-
tions and conclude all arrangements, with either the State Allocation Board or the
Director of Finance, incliding reque3ts for payment of the State's sAare of the
cost of tAe construction of the aforementioned public works project.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing; Resolution was
duly aLd regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the Oity of Alameda
in reguiar meeting assembled on the 15th day of tune, 1948, by the following vote,
to wit:
