WHERMS, the State of California, under Chapter 20, Statutes of 1946
(First Extra Session), as amended, has appropriated funds for allotment to provide
for financial assistance to Local Agencies, defined therein as counties, cities
and counties, or cities, so that they may engage in a lar6e public works construc-
tion program 0 order to prevent and alleviate unemcloyment; and
ifIEREAS, the City of Alameda desires to apply for an allotment of State
aid for the construction of a public works project under said Act; and
WHEREAS, an application to the State Director of Finance for sucA an
allotment has been prepared and presented to this Legislative Body for considera-
tion; and
IAS, said City has made provisions for paying that portion of the
cost of the Taro jest not requested as an allotment from the State;
NOT Tli�;REFO.L_�.],,p 3E IT RESOLVED that said City submit the aforesaid applica-
tion for State aid for construction of a public works project to the Director of
Finance, requesting an allotment of One Hundred Thirty-eight Thousand, Seven Hundred
Fifty and no/100 ($138,750.00) Dollars, or ah allotment of such amount as may be
allotted by the State Allocation Board;
BE IT FURTHM RESOLVED that said City hereby certifies that the total
estimate of cost to be paid for the construction of the Bay Farm Island Sewer Systems
(Project No. 20-6), for which said City is making application under said Act, is Two
Hundred Seventy-seven Thousand, Five Hundred and no/00 (1277,500.00) Dollars; and
3, IT IFURTHER RhSOiT, D that said City of Alameda herebv requests the State
to pay the State's share of the total actual cost of construction of the project for
waich said City is making application for aid;
BE IT KaTH.,H R1,'80.',VED, that for the purpose of this request, Don C. Me -
Milan, City Manager of the City of Alameda, be, and he hereby is, desiZnatcd as
the authorized aEent of said City, and is hereby authorized and directed to sign
the herein mention application of said City and to submit the same to the State
Director of Finance, together with a certified statement of the total estimated
cost to be paid for construction of the project herein mentioned and such other
information as may be required; and said authorized alent is further authorized
and directed, as representative of said City, to conduct all negotiations and can -
elude all arrangements, with either the State Allocation Board or the Director of
Finance, including requests for payment of the State's share of the cost of the
construction of the aforementioned public works project.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in
regular meeting assembled on the 15th day of Jurne, 1948, by the followinS vote, to
