AhT ADVA1',CE CLAIIA To THE STATE DIRECTOR OF F11,,1-AMCE FCR FIFTY PER CENT OF THE STATEV SI41i.L' 014' COST OF CONSTRUCTIOY OF THE BAY FARE ISLAND SEVER 11TSTEE PROMT 1006 20-6) sCik the State of California, under Chapter 20, Statutes of 1946 (First Extra Session), as amended, has appropriated funds for allotment to provide for financial assistance to Local Agencies, defined therein as counties, cities and counties,.or cities, so that they may engage in a large public works construc- tion program in order to prevent and alleviate unemployment; and 2LAS9 by Resolution No. 3733 adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda on June 15, 1948, the City of Alameda has made application to the State Director of Finance for financial assistance to defray the cost of construction of the Bay Farm Island Sewer System; and the City of Alameda has already expended a portion of its share of the estimated construction cost for the purchase of materials to be used in the work and for construction of said sewer system; and. iz1X_,L1,LAS, it is estimated that the City of Alameda will have expended its total share of said estimated construction cost by August 1. 1948, for the purchase of materials to be used in the work and for construction of said sewer system; and WHEREAS, funds must be available to meet the monthly progress payments as required under the Specifications and Special Provisions governing the construc- tion of the Bay Farm Island Sewer System (Project No. 20-6) for the period, August 1, 1948, to the estimated date of completion, April 17, 1949; NO'V TliEREFORE, BE IT RESOLIFED BY TIME COUMIL OF THE UITY OF ALAU! DA that the City of Alameda file an initial claim for fifty per cent (501) of the State's share of said allotment for the reasons above set forth; BE IT 2URTHER RESOLVED that said advance payment, if granted, will be used to defray the expenses of construction of the Bay Farm Island Sewer System (Project ho. 20-6) for the period August 1. 1948, to November 1. 1948; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that for the purpose of this request for fifty per cent (50%) advance payment of the State's share of the estimated cost of construction of the Bay Farm Island Sewer System (Project No. 20-6), the City hanager of the City of Alameda be, and he hereby is, designated as the authorized agent of said City, and is hereby authorized and directed to conduct all negotia- tions and conclude all arrangements, with either the State Allocation Board or the Director of Finance regarding such requested advance. I. the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in adjourned regular meeting assembled on the 29th day of June, 1948, by the following vote, to wit: (4).
