RLSOLUEION OF' THE COONCEL OF THE CIPY OF ALAME DA CREAEING

BE If RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF CHE CITY OF ALAMEDA:
jjCTInN 1. Ehere is hereby created a committee which shall be known as the "Citizens'
Committee on Charter Revision".
SECIION,j. The following residenLs of the City of Alameda are hereby appointed Lo
membership on said commiUee:

ILCTWN 3. Said committee shall exist until disso'ved by VoLe of the CiLy Coun& I ,
and the above naned nwabers of said cammiUee shall serve until dissolution of Lhe committee, removal
by the City Council, or their resignaLion, whichever occurs first.
qyCT1gN,j. The CiLy Council, at its option, may replace any Committee member who resigns
or is rumoved prior to dissolution of said committee. Such replacement sha:1 be accomplished through
nomination by the Mayor and confirmation by the City Council.
SQ110N 5. The Citizens' Committee on Charter Revision shall have the following powers
and duLieS:
(a) fo adnpt rules and regulations for the proper administraLlan of the
affairs of said committee.
W After study and evaluation of the existing Charter of Lhe City of
Alameda, to reconmend to the City Council any revisions of said Charter deemed
necessary.
W) If Charter revision is recommended by the conmittee, to draft.
specific amending proposals for review and action by the City Council, such
drafting to be accomplished with Lhe aid of the CityAttorney and any special
legal counsel employed by the CiLy for that purpose.
W To gather information and advice from any and all sources, provided,
that no fees or other charges for the furnishing of such information or advice shall
bE a valid claim againSL Lhe City unless authorized by the City Council.
(e) Fo render written progress rerLs upon request of the City Council
and to submit its final report containing the recommendations referred to hereinabove,
togCthav with any proposed CharLor amendments, on or befrre December 13, 1962.
