WIEEIUEAS, the City Auditor has recomnended to this Council that the method
and mechanics of paying City employee salaries be altered and changed; and
V',TITEREEAS, said recon nendation is based on the premise that such changes
will conserve time and labor, in the offices of the City Auditor and City Treasurer
and provide a more efficient nethod of meeting pay roll demands; and
VIIIIEREASP the Council has been fully advised in the premises and is of the
opinion that the best interests of the City will be served by the adoption of the
Auditor's recommendation In this matter;
NOW T11E1a'F0R-E9 !11E IT 1TE"CL WED BY TH13, COUNCIL 01P THE CITY OF ALAMEDA:
2. That there be and there is hereby created a new City fund to be known
as "City Employees Pay Roll Fund", into which fund shall be transferred from the
several fends affected, semi-monthly, sufficient moneys to meet current pay ro12
demands, and from which fund shall be paid all salaries becoming due employees of
the City of Alameda.
2. That the Auditor and Treasurer be, and they are hereby, authorized
to make to said fund all transfers from other affected City funds necessary to
meet the City pay rolls, as paynont thereof becomes due,
3. That the Auditor be, and he is hereby authorized, on behalf of the
City of Alameda, to open with American Trust Company, Alameda, an account to be
known as "City of Alameda Pay Roll Account" and to deposit City moneys in and
draw City checks against said account for the purposes of making payments of
salaries becoming due employees of the City of Alameda and collecting salary
deduction items for payment into the proper funds.
19 the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 1st day of July, 1952, by the following vote,
to wit:
A)L7ES: Councilmen Anderson, Branscheld, Sweeney and President
Osborn, (4).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilman Jones, (1).
