RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 4633 AND CREATING A IEW FUND
TO BE KNOWN AS "CITY EMPLOYEES PAY ROLL FUND" AND
AUTHORIZING THE OPENING Of" AN ACCOUNT WITH AMERICAN
TRUST CCMPANY, SAID ACCOUNT TO BE KNOWN AS "CITY OF
ALAMEDA PAY ROLL ACCOUNT"
WHEREAS,, the City Auditor has recoTmnended to this Council that the method
and mechanics of paying City employee salaries be altered and changed; and
WHEREAS., said recommendation is based on the premise that such changes will
conserve time and labor in the offices of the City Auditor and City Treasurer and
provide a more efficient method of meeting pay roll demands; and
WHEREAS, the Council has been fully advised in the premises and is of the
opinion that the best interests of the City will be served by the adoption of the
Auditor's recommendation in this matter:
NOW THEEEFORE, aE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA:
1. That there be and there is hereby created a new City fund to be known
as "City Employees Pay Roll Fund",, into which fund shall be transferred from the
several funs affected, semi-monthly, sufficient moneys to meet current pay roll.
demands, and from which fund shall be paid all. salaries becoming due employees of the
City of Alameda,
2. That the Auditor and Treasurer be, and they are hereby, authorized to
make to said fund all transfers from other affected. City funds necessary to meet the
City Pay Rolls, as payment thereof becomes due.
3. That the Auditor and the Treasurer be., and they are hereby authorized.,
on behalf of the City of Alameda, to open with American Trust Comrany, Alameda, an
account to be known as "City of Alameda Pay Roll Acco-tuit" and to deposit City moneys
in and to jointly draw City checks af7ainst said account for the purposes of making,
pnyinents of salaries becoming due employees of the City of Alaneda and collecting
salary deduction items for payment into the proper funds.
BE IT FURTH1.{�R RESOLVED that Resolution No. 4633 adopted by the Council of
the City of Alameda on July 1, 1952, is hereby rescinded.
