Resolution 04700r T RESOTION NO. 4700 DECLARING RESULT OF SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THiE' CITY OF ALAMEDA ON NOVEMBI::'R 1 19 2 WHEREAS, a special municiptil election was held in the City of Alameda on Tuesday, November LI., 1952, under and pursuant to the provisions of Article XIX of the Charter of said city,, and in conjunction with the General State Election of said date, for the purpose of submitting to the electors of the City of Alameda, by a referendum., the following proposition: "SHALL AN ORDINANCE entitled, IAN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A REL IEF,PE'NSI ON AND INSIffi'ANCE SYSTEM FOR PIENIBERS OF THE POLICE ANI FIRE DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA, AND REPEALING ORDINIANCE NO. 276 SERIES, AS AMUENDED I: providinF for increased contributions to the City of Alameda Police and Fire Pension Fund from 2% be 4% by the members of the rolice, and Fire Departments, and providing for the amortization of the accrued and pros- pective 2iabilitles pertaining to the active and retired ii,lembers covered by the provisions of said. ordinance, BE ADOPTED?" mm WHEREAS, the returns of said Special Municipal Election were made to the Board of Supervisors of the, County of Alameda under the provisions of law applicable to consolidated elections, and the same ascertained., determined and declared in all respects and particulars in the time., form and manner provided by law; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Alameda, as a result of its canvass of the votes cast at said election, has determined and declared in a Certificate issued by the Clerk of said Board of Supervisors under date of December 29 1952, that the vote cast for and against the aforementioned proposition was as follows - YES 16,552 NO 5,,489$ - NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCTI. OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that L the result of said election,, as found and determined by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Alameda, be, and the same is hereby, accepted and adopted as the of return on sa!Ld election. BE IT FURTHER RE"SOLVED that, as a result of the vote on the aforementioned proposition, the Ordinance incorporated therein be, and the same, is hereby, declared to be duly adopted and passed as an Ordinance of the City of Alaneda, effective January 1, 1953. BE IT FURTIE]R RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, authorized, and directed to file, as an official record. of the result of said Special Municipal Election, the aforesaid Certificate of the Clerk of the Board of Super- visors of the County of Alameda.
