DAY AREA RAPID TRANSIT COMMISSION IN TIT EI411AT'172 OF
SURVEYS) AND REPCRaS ON ALL PUASES OF RAPID TRANSIT
IN THE NINTE BAY AREA COUNTIES AND TEE MANNER OF
PAMTENT 7JE'REFOR
WHEREAS, the San. Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit Commission has recommended
that surveys and 2eports be made covering all phases of rapid transit in the nine (9)
Bay Area counties and that the cost of such surveys and reports, estimated at
$750,000.00 be borne $400,000.00 by the State and $350,000.00 by the nine (9) inter-
ested Bay Area counties on a population basis; and
WHEREAS, an apportionment of the cost of such surveys and reports among
said counties on the aforementioned population basis would entail an appropriation
of $97,000.00 by the County of Alameda; and
WEEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda is of the opinion that the
local cost of such surveys and reports should be borne by the county governments
rather than by the cities within the county;
NOW THEREFORE, HE IT HID]SOLVED BY THE COUEPIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that
the reconmendation of the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit Commission, as here-
inbefore set forth, be, and the same is hereby adopted as the view of this Council
in the matter of rapid transit surveys and reports and the manner of payment there-
for.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular
meeting assembled on the 3rd day of March, 1953, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Anderson, Branscheid, Jones, Sweeney and President
Osborn, (5).

ABSENT: None,
