MEMORIALIZING THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
IN THE MATTER OF PASSAGE OF SENATE BILL 109 RE DEVELOPMENT
OF PLAN FOR NINE' BAY AREA COUNTIES RAPID TRANSIT
WHEREAS, one of the responsibilities assigned by the Legislature to the
San Francisco Ray Area Rapid Transit Commission is to bring about the development
of a coordinated, master rapid transit plan for the nine Bay AMa colin-ties; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is aware of the great benefits that will accrue
to this area from the development of such a plan and from the studies and investi-
gations incident to the development of the plan, and
WHEREAS,, the nine counties have pledged themselves to provide funds
totaling -P)350,000.00 toward the development of the, plan'; and Senate Bill 1-09,
providing for the appropriating of $400,000.00 estimated as being the additional
fu-nd required to finance the development of the plan, is now pending before the
Legislature,

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF TFD,' CITY OF ,ALA DA
that this Council approves of said proposed legislation embodied in Senate Bill
1.0 9, and urgently requests that same be given close study and attention and hereby
respectfully requests favorable action thereon by both houses of the Legislature.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this resolution be ti.-ans-
raitted by the City Clerk to each member of the Senate Finance Committee and to the
Alameda County delegation in the Legislature.
