DECLARING CANVASS OF RETURNS AND RESULT OF SP!!','CIAL
IVRTNICIPAL BOND ELECTION HELD ON JUM,'
LTM, 2t1953
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda duly called and ordered
held in said City a special municipal. bond election for the purpose of submitting
to the qualified voters and electors thereof the measure hereinafter set fortho
and
WHEREAS, asid special municipal bond electlon was held on TUESDAY,
June 2, 1953, In accordance with law and the proceedings of said Council, and the
votes thereat received and canvassed, and the returns thereof ascertained., determined
and declared in all respects as required by law.
NOW HEREFORE
,q TT I , BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Alameda as
1. That the City Clerk of the City of Alameda be and he is hereby instructed
to enter this resolution on the minutes of t,qis Council as a statement of the result
of said election.
2. That the whole number of votes cast in said City at said special
municipal bond election was 6,774. votes. That certain ballots were spoiled and not
counted,
3* That at said election the following measure for incurring bonded
indebtedness was submitted to the electors of said City, and that the number of votes
given in said City for and against said measure was as follows:

furnishings, playground and athletic facilities,

That by the Ordinance calling said special municipal bond election it was
provided that for the purpose of said election said City of Alameda was divided into
twenty-two (22) special election precincts, the general state and county election
precincts into w�iich said City is divided for general state and county election
purposes being thereby consolidated., and that the number of votes cast in each
precinct for and against said measure was as follows.,

That the total number of votes cast at said special municipal bond election
on said Measure were in favor of said Measure and authorized the incurring of a bonded
indebtedness for the purposes set forth in said Measure and that said Measure was
defeated.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of June, 1953, by the following vote.-

President Sweeney, (5).

hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true and correct copy of a resolution
duly adopted at a special meeting of the Council of said City duly and regularly
held at the regular meeting place thereof on the 9th day of June, 1953, of which
meeting all of the members of said Council had due notice and at which a majority
thereof was presento that at said meeting, said resolution was introduced by Councilman
Jones and read, in full, and was thereupon,, upon motion of Councilman Jones, seconded
by Councilman Moresi, adopted by the following vote.6

Sweeney, (5).

ABSENT., None,
That I have carefully compared. the same with the original. minutes of said
meeting on file and of record in my office and that said resolution is duly entered
of record in, Book 13 of Resolutions, at Pages 58 to 6 , inclusive, and said resolution
is a full, true and correct copy of the original resole tlon,*adopted at said meeting
and entered in said minutes. That said resolution has not been amended., modified. or
rescinded since the date of its adoption and the same is now in full force and effect.
