Resolution 04832RESOLUTION NO. 4832 CANCELLING CITY TAXES ON PROPERTY ACQUIRED BY THE CITY FOR 1v'1UNICIPAL PURPOSES WEEREAS, the following described real property situated in the City of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of California, to -wit: PARCEL 1: LOT 7 and the East 15 feet of LOT 8, Block A, Damon's West End Tract (Assessorfs Block 325, Parcel 5 --sawyer); PARCEL 2: A strip of land 65 feet in width adjoining the aforedeserlbed land (Parcel 1) on the South (Assessor's Block 372, Parcel 11 --Sawyer); PARCEL 3: Beginning at the South line of Central Avenue at intersection with western boundary line of Teutonic Homestead Associgtion Tract, "Map of the Lands of the Teutonia. Park and Homestead Association" etc., thence W 50 feet; thence 3 186 feet to the Bay of San Francisco; thence SE along the shore line 50 feet; thence N 186-9/02 feet to beginning (Assessor's Block 325, Parcel 2--Strehlow); PARCEL 4: A strip of tide land 50 feet wide lying immediately infrontof Parcel 3 above described (Assessors Block 372, Parcel lh--Strehlow), has been assessed heretofore for city purposes for the fiscal year 19-53-1954 and taxes levied thereon are uncollected and unpaid; and WHEREAS, after the time said taxes became a lien on said real property described above as Parcel 1 and Parcel 2, to wit,, on August 5, 1953, said real property was, by Deed recorded in the office of the Coiinty Recorder of Alameda County on August 5, 1953, in Book 7099 of Official Records, at page 191, acquired, and ever since has been, and now is, owned by the City of Alameda, and has been and now is being used for public purposes, and because of such public ownership is not subject to sale for delinquent taxes; and WHEREAS, after the time said taxes bacame a lien on said real property, described above as Parcel 3 and Parcel 4, to wit, on August 13, 1953, said real property was, by Deed recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Alameda County on August 13, 1953, in Book 7106 of Of Records, at page 463, acquired, and ever since has been, and now is, owned by the City, of Alameda, and has been and now is being used for public purposes, and because of such public ownership is not subject to sale for delinquent taxes; NOWTHEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA, with, the written consent of the City Attorney attached hereto, that all uncollected taxes charged or levied for city purposes upon the of real property, together with penalties and costs thereon, be, and the same, are hereby, cancelled, and tHe Auditor and Tax Collector of the City of Alameda are horeby authorized and directed to cancel. the same on their respective books. BR TT FURTHER RESOLVED, anything in this resolution to tho contrary not- withstanding, that this resolution and order shall not be construed as cancelling, or authorizing the cancellation of, any special assessment taxes levied a7ainst said real property by the City of Alameda puTsuant to the provisions of the "Acquisition and Improvement Act of 1925".
