GENERAL FUND FIRE DEPARTMENT — PREVENTION DIVISION
(10032220) REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES BY $38,000 AND TO
INCREASE PLANNING, BUILDING & TRANSPORTATION — BUILDING
DIVISION BUDGET (20962720) REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES IN THE
AMOUNT OF $17,000
WHEREAS, on June 15, 2021, the City Council adopted a budget representing the
financial plan for conducting the affairs of the City of Alameda for the Fiscal Year (FY)
beginning July 1, 2021 and ending June 30, 2023; and
WHEREAS, on June 21, 2022, the City Council adopted a Mid -Cycle Update with
updates to the budget representing the financial plan for conducting the affairs of the City
of Alameda for the FY beginning July 1, 2022 and ending June 30, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda relies on the Accela platform to manage City
permit processing and tracking; and
WHEREAS, changing City and public needs as well as the COVID-19 pandemic
have significantly increased the City and the public's reliance on permit tracking software
for the submittal, issuance and management of permit processes on-line and remotely;
and
WHEREAS, the increasing use of the Accela platform by the City's departments
has increased the need for Accela licenses from 40 to 101; and
WHEREAS, the increased reliance on Accela has increased the costs to the City
for Accela; and
WHEREAS, permit fees collected by the City include the costs for maintaining
adequate technologies to manage and track permits electronically the increase in revenue
collected from the Technology Fee as the result of citywide development activity will fund
the Accela associated costs; and
WHEREAS, the increased cost for Accela requires corresponding amendments to
the FY 2022-23 Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City's Fire Department and
Planning, Building and Transportation Department Fiscal Year 2022-23 Budget shall be
amended as follows:
