MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
TUESDAY- -AUGUST 9, 2022- -6:01 P.M.
Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft convened the meeting at 6:49 p.m.
Roll Call – Present: Councilmembers Daysog, Herrera Spencer, Knox White,
Vella and Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft – 5. [Note: The meeting was
held via Zoom.]
Absent: None.
Public Comment:
(22-511) Tod Hickman, Alameda, expressed concern over the appointment of a legacy
employee to the City Manager position.
The meeting was adjourned to Closed Session to consider:
(22-512) Public Employee Appointment/Hiring (Pursuant to Government Code Section
54957) Title/Description of Positions to be Filled: City Manager/Interim City Manager
Following the Closed Session, the meeting was reconvened and the City Clerk
announced that Council directed moving forward with considering the appointment of
Human Resources Director Nancy Bronstein as the Acting Interim City Manager and the
process for a permanent City Manager; and, if necessary, in parallel, the hiring of an
Interim City Manager by the following roll call vote: Councilmembers Daysog: Aye;
Herrera Spencer: Aye; Knox White: Aye; Vella: Aye; and Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft: Aye;
Ayes: 5.
Adjournment
There being no further business, Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft adjourned the meeting at 8:15
p.m.
