APPROPRIATING $40,000 IN THE AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN ACT
PROJECT (C90300) FOR A PARKLET INSURANCE
REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM; AND AUTHORIZING THE INTERIM
CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO DISBURSE FUNDS
CONSISTENT WITH PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
WHEREAS, funding is needed to implement the recommended insurance
reimbursement program for parklet owners, as part of the Commercial Streets program;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council supported the insurance reimbursement program at
its November 2, 2021 meeting, however funds were not appropriated at that time; and
WHEREAS, the City has received reimbursement requests from eleven
businesses to date, and now expects the total need for the program period, through
November 2023, to be $40,000; and
WHEREAS, staff proposes to appropriate funding in the American Rescue Plan
Act (ARPA) project (C90300) as shown in the table below.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Alameda hereby appropriates $40,000 in the ARPA Project (C90300) and authorizes the
City Manager to disburse those funds consistent with the requirements of the insurance
reimbursement program.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City of Alameda in a regular meeting
assembled on the 20th day of September 2022 by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, Herrera Spencer, Knox White,
Vella and Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft — 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
