APPROVING OF ADMINISTRATIVE CORRECTIONS TO REVISE THE
LANGUAGE FOR RETENTION PAY IN THE MEMORANDUM OF
UNDERSTANDINGS (MOU) BETWEEN THE ALAMEDA POLICE
OFFICERS ASSOCIATION (APOA) AND UPDATE THE SALARY
SCHEDULE FOR THE ALAMEDA FIRE CHIEFS ASSOCIATION
(AFCA) TO REFLECT THE CORRECT CALCULATION OF
MANAGEMENT INCENTIVE PAY
WHEREAS, on May 3, 2022, the City Council adopted a resolution approving
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Alameda Fire Chiefs Association
(AFCA) and the City of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, on February 15, 2022, the City Council adopted a resolution approving
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Alameda Police Officers Association
(APOA) and the City of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, while the MOUs approved by the City Council included retention pay
the language in the APOA MOU needs to be updated to correctly reflect how this pay is
calculated; and
WHEREAS, the salary schedule for AFCA needs to be updated to correctly reflect
the calculation of Management Incentive Pay to include retention pay.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Alameda
that said Council hereby approves the updated retention pay language in the APOA MOU
and the revised salary schedule for AFCA; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the provision of this Resolution shall supersede
any other resolution in conflict herewith.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly adopted and passed by the Council of the City' of Alameda in a regular meeting
assembled on the 1st day of November 2022, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Councilmembers Daysog, Herrera Spencer, Knox White,
Vella and Mayor Ezzy Ashcraft — 5.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
