AMENDING THE FISCAL YEARS 2023-25 BIENNIAL BUDGET FOR
THE SEWER SERVICES FUND (FUND 501) REDUCING FISCAL
YEAR 2024-25 APPROPRIATIONS BY $419,783 AND INCREASING
FISCAL YEAR 2023-24 APPROPRIATIONS BY $425,280 TO
ADVANCE PURCHASE OF A COMBINATION JETNACUUM
SEWER/STORM CLEANER
WHEREAS, on June 20, 2023, City Council adopted Resolution No. 16059,
Approving and Adopting the Operating and Capital Budget for Fiscal Years 2023-24 and
2024-25; and
WHEREAS, funds to replace one combination jet/vacuum sewer/storm cleaner
truck are appropriated in the Sewer Services Fund (Fund 501) in Fiscal Year (FY) 2024-
25; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda (City) faces significant mechanical repair costs
for the existing cleaner making the purchase of a new combination jet/vacuum
sewer/storm cleaner truck needed sooner than anticipated; and
WHEREAS, the existing combination jet/vacuum sewer/storm cleaner truck
experienced severe mechanical failures and is beyond its useful life.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Alameda
that the Finance Director is hereby authorized to amend the FYs 2023-25 Biennial Budget
for the Sewer Service Fund (Fund 501) reducing FY 2024-25 appropriations by $419,783
and increasing FY 2023-24 appropriations by $425,250 to advance purchase of a
combination jet/vacuum sewer/storm cleaner truck.
