TUESDAY- - AUGUST 7, 2001- -6:15 P.M.
Mayor Appezzato convened the Special Meeting at 6:20 p.m.
Roll Call - Present: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Johnson,
Kerr and Mayor Appezzato - 5.
Absent: None.
The Special Meeting was adjourned to Closed Session to consider:
(01 -406) Conference with Legal Counsel - Anticipated Litigation;
Initiation of Litigation pursuant to subdivision (c) of Section
54956.9; umber of Potential Cases: One.
(01 -407) Conference with Labor Negotiator; Agency Negotiators:
Human Resources Director and Austris Rungis; Employee
Organizations: Alameda Municipal Fire Management Association - FMA;
Alameda Management and Confidential Employees Association - MCEA
and International Association of Firefighters, Local #689 - IAFF.
Following the Closed Session, the Special Meeting was reconvened
and Mayor Appezzato announced that regarding Conference with Legal
Counsel, the Council discussed initiation of litigation and
litigation was not authorized; and regarding Conference with Labor
Negotiator, the City Council gave instructions to the City
negotiators on labor negotiations.
Adjournment
There being no further business, Mayor Appezzato adjourned the
Special Meeting at 7:00 p.m.
