Acting Mayor DeWitt convened the Special Meeting at 5:30 p.m.
ROLL CALL - Present: Councilmembers Daysog, Johnson, Kerr and
Acting Mayor DeWitt - 4.
Absent: None.
The Special Meeting was adjourned to Closed Session to consider:
(02 -450) Conference with Legal Counsel - Existing Litigation: Name
of case: City of Alameda /CLASS v. Port of Oakland.
Following the Closed Session, the Special Meeting was reconvened
and Acting Mayor DeWitt announced that Council gave instructions to
the City Attorney to finalize the settlement on the litigation. At
the October 15, 2002 Regular Council Meeting, Acting Mayor DeWitt
announced that the vote taken by Council regarding the settlement
of the City of Alameda /CLASS v. Port of Oakland; the action is
reflected as follows: DeWitt: Aye; Johnson: Aye; Kerr: Aye; and
Daysog: No.
Adjournment
There being no further business, Acting Mayor DeWitt adjourned the
Special Meeting at 7:30 p.m.
